Villavin Farm Holiday Cottages

Jul 10 - This was our second visit to Villavin, but our first to Hayloft. Another splendid cottage! Your attention to detail in the fabric of the building and consumables is delightful has never left us wanting. Thank you for making so welcome.

Jul 10 - This is our third time at Villavin and we cannot get enough of the place. The kids loved it and the grown ups loved it! Easy access to the A39 and the wonderful Devon and Cornwall coasts.

Jul 10 - Our first visit and surely not our last. Sunset barn is just lovely.

Jun 10 - Thank you for a superb holiday again on your fantastic farm. This is our second stay and it has been as perfect as our first visit - a great find!!

Jun 10 - First visit - could have stayed for ages. It is only when you stop that you become aware of how weary one is and what a lovely place to rest and recuperate in (Villavin) is.

Jun 10 - We can sum our holiday up by simply saying "we don't want to go home". We have had the most relaxing time. Thank you once again for the lovely warm welcome; we look forward to seeing you again next year.

April 10 - Although we've been to Villavin many times this was our first stay at Blackberry Barn and like the other two barns we loved it!

Apr 10 - Yet another wonderful, peaceful and relaxing holiday - our third visit!

Easter 10 - A wonderful welcome to this hospitable and well appointed cottage! Everything has been great. Thank you for the scones, flowers, Easter chocolate and lollies and you've all made us feel so much at home.

Feb 10 - Thanks guys for another fabulous week. Jo, the sewing day saved my sanity!!! The boys, once again, have had a great time running free.

Feb 10 - A lovely peaceful, relaxing week for the second year. Hope to be back next year. Very pleased with the warm welcome and cream tea on arrival.

Xmas 09 - Thanks again for a very warm welcome. Despite the bitter cold at the beginning of the week we very cosy and comfortable. All the animals are just gorgeous and we will miss our good morning from the chestnut pony.

Oct 09 - [Quilting retreat group] We all had a wonderful time. Plenty of stitching, projects well on the way to completion. We need more weekends like this! Shop, workshop room and cottage all well equipped, comfortable and very friendly atmosphere. Our evening meals and lunches were fantastic and it was great not to have to think about what food to prepare - what a luxury!

Oct 09 - Having stayed at a fair number of corporate hotels in my time, the one thing which makes accommodation stand out is thoughtfulness - the personal touch. You've added this very special ingredient in spade loads which has meant I have had a thoroughly fabulous time.

Oct 09 - Our 8th visit to Villavin and we are running out of things to say! So here is an alternative: Welcome 10/10, Scones/Clotted Cream 10/10, comfort warmth 10/10, shops nearby 8/10, beaches Bude 8/10 Croyde 10/10, facilities 10/10, relaxation 12/10, overall enjoyment - we'll be back soon!

Aug 09 - What a brilliant idea to have a play barn. The children thought it was absolutely great (so did Grandma & Grandad)

Apr 09 - This was our first time here and it was just what we needed. ......we will definitely be coming back, totally love it!

Apr 09 - We have had a fantastic week! ...... and have thoroughly enjoyed staying in Sunset barn. We can't wait until we return in 6 weeks time. I know <child> will not be happy until we return. He is convinced this is his second home!

Apr 09 - Thank you for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Enid really enjoyed being able to look around and buy quilting materials for her projects.

Mar 09 - If you are reading these comments as a visitor to Villavin, you will probably already realised that these are the best holiday cottages in Devon! This is our 7th visit (4th time in Blackberry & 3 at Sunset) and we are running out of things to say.

Mar 09 - This is our second visit to Sunset Barn and we have enjoyed it as much, if not more than last time!

Feb 09 - Gloria, Danielle & Jason had a fantastic stay in Blackberry Barn. Wonderful accommodation which was incredibly well stocked with everything we could possibly need. We will be back. Thank you so much for such a wonderful welcome - and quilting too!

Feb 09 - A great haven in a snow storm! Especially the quilting studio.

Dec 08 - Our second visit and we have enjoyed our week as much as the first. We have enjoyed the peace and quiet away from our normal hectic life style and we are sure to return again.

Oct 08 - Spent a wonderful week at Sunset barn Jo and the family make you so welcome. The facilities and location make a wonderful relaxing holiday. P.S. as a fellow quilter Jo's shop is an Aladdin’s cave - brilliant!

Sep 08 - Lovely cottage location and everything else. Great chilled out week, just what we wanted. Didn't want to go home. We'' be back.

Aug 08 - This is our third year here, which says it all really - we think it is idyllic.

July 08 - Our first time at the Hayloft and third time at the farm. It never gets boring, our children love it here and it's fast becoming my favourite place in the world (so peaceful and relaxing) - Already looking forward to coming back next year.

July 08 - Many thanks for a great place to stay and making us feel so welcome. It's been particularly great for the kids - feeding the sheep, spotting cats, dogs and chickens, playing with 'Henry' (under six play area) and the little trains in the play barn.

July 08 - What a wonderful week, excellent accommodation. Nice and cosy, clean and attention to detail 11 out of 10. A lovely welcome, the cream tea was much appreciated.

Jun 08 - Thank you Jo and Laurence, very warm welcome, wonderful cottage and a smashing week....... All in all a very nice week which we would recommend to any of our friends.

Jun 08 - Superb accommodation, every detail thought of and catered for. Fantastic hosts! We could not of wished for a better base for our holiday. The games barn and animals were a huge hit with the children and we loved taking Holly for a walk with our dogs.

Jun 08 - We have had a fantastic week at Villavin Farm. *** will miss the ponies and sheep who are definitely fatter after a week of extra feeding!

May 08 - This has been a fantastic week enabling *** and I to completely unwind. The peace and quiet here is wonderful and you need listen to nothing else. The accommodation is second to none with everything you could possibly need and much more.

May 08 - We've had a wonderful week and will definitely return. The cottage and surroundings were perfect for our family.

Apr 08 - Thank you very much for a very relaxing week. The boys loved the games room and I think we will be badgered to buy a dartboard very soon. Loved the cream tea when we arrived.

Apr 08 - Another amazing week at Villavin (Hayloft this time), enhanced by friends being in the adjacent cottages. What a fantastic setting for a great week away.

Mar 08 - Lovely to turn up after a long journey to a cream tea and fresh flowers. The cottages are adorable and very well equipped. Thank you for providing such eco-friendly accommodation. We hope to return in the summer.

Jan 08 - What a fantastic way to spend New Year - we've all had such a wonderful time. This is definitely our sons favourite place - as soon as we wake up his first words are "tractor" and he loves seeing the animals. Thank you so much. We hope to return in the summer, or sooner if he can't wait that long!!

Dec 07 - Our first Christmas away and we have had a wonderful time. It was lovely to see the Christmas tree with twinkling lights, cream tea, biscuits and fresh flowers. You really made us feel at home. We are looking forward to our return next year to enjoy New Year at Sunset barn. (Editor Note - guests enjoyed holiday so much that they booked for same week next year prior to leaving, and have also now booked for an extra short break in the Autumn)

Dec 07 - Many thanks for a wonderful stay in your lovely cottage, extremely clean and well equipped! Many thanks for the cream tea on arrival, that went down very well. The games room was a hit for the children and they enjoyed feeding the sheep. The dogs enjoyed it especially - also being able to run around in an enclosed field.

Nov 07 - Thank you for another wonderful holiday, everything is just perfect! Look forward to returning at the end of February.

Oct 07 - (Child aged 7) We went in the games barn every day, it was very good. The beds were very cosy, I liked feeding the sheep and Shetland ponies..... My favourite two sheep was Harvey and Bramble. Thank you for a nice holiday I would like to come again.

Oct 07 - Thank you for a lovely stay, the cottage was very clean and cosy. The games and books were a great added bonus and we spent many hours in the games barn. The children loved feeding the animals and fed the sheep the whole container of food. Penny the dog loved the walks through the fields. Hope to come back again!

Oct 07 - Thank you, there really isn't much more we can add that hasn't already been written. Friend recommended you to us and the holiday has lived up to our expectations - we will recommend you to other friends (does this mean the cottage won't be available when we want to come back?).

Sep 07 - A "first class" cottage, the attention to detail is 2nd to none and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villavin to others.

Sep 07 - Despite the changeable weather, this was a wonderful holiday. The scenery is breathtaking and the hospitality second to none. We have loved the 'peace and quiet' so rare in real life! We will definitely be back (the sooner the better).

Sep 07 - What a joy it's been to spend a weeks holiday here in Sunset barn, so very well equipped we wish we had booked for 2 weeks... We are booked in for 2008!

Sep 07 - A wonderful relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. Blackberry barn is perfect - so well equipped and comfortable..... It's been a great base for exploring the coast but wonderfully rural being 'properly' dark at night!

Sep 07 - A great big thank you for yet another fantastic, relaxing holiday in the hayloft. It is refreshing change to see that the same very high standards we enjoyed last year have not altered in any way at all.

Aug 07 - This is our second year at Villavin and all I can say is it keeps getting better and better!

Aug 07 - We have stayed in many cottages over the years, but this (Hayloft) is by far the best. We very much appreciate all the hard and planning which has produced such a perfect environment. The warm welcome added to the pleasure.

July 07 - Our fourth stay at the farm! As ever Anna and Sally have enjoyed running around the farm feeding the sheep and horses. No doubt we will be back again soon!

July 07 - A wonderful and relaxing holiday...... Sunset barn is lovely, a really cosy home from home. The welcome was friendly and thank you for the scrummy cream tea. The cottage is superbly furnished and the spa bath a great way to relax.

July 07 - This is our second year at Villavin (Blackberry barn) and all I can say is it keeps getting better and better!

July 07 - We arrived in the middle of the sheep's 'toe nail' clipping which we went to watch after a very warm welcome from Jo, Laurie, and the children. This was our first self-catering holiday and we were not to be disappointed by the high standard and attention to detail on offer in the accommodation. On top of this the peaceful location is ideal for getting away from it all.

June 2007 - What a lovely place! Everything you could want and more. Our daughter loved the play barn and play area. Feeding the sheep seems to have become part of the bedtime routine!

Mar 07 - Blackberry Barn "If I had known this holiday place was here I would have booked in before this! - what a lovely clean, well equipped and welcoming farm to stay on."

Dec 06 - Sunset Barn "Sunset Barn is one of the best holiday lets (possibly the best) that we have been to and there have been dozens over the years. We have yet to return to any property but this one could be the first!"

April 06 - The Hayloft "Our second visit lived up to expectations. Everything was as clean, tidy and to hand as last year - very much a home from home"

Sep 06 - Sunset Barn "Friday evening and we are coming to the end of two wonderful weeks at Villavin. Peaceful, quiet and wonderful unpolluted skies at night, your own private planetarium!.... Jo, Laurence and everyone at Villavin thank you for all you do to make Villavin such a lovely place for a holiday."

Oct 06 - Blackberry Barn " Made to feel very welcome, Blackberry very comfortable, Games room ace for the boys. Excellent base for exploring. Would come again and recommend to others, thanks."

April 06 - The Hayloft (child aged 7) "I enjoyed playing on the climbing frame and feeding the sheep. I liked going to the beach very much. Most days I played on my bike. I also saw a deer in Buttercup field."

Jun 06 - Blackberry Barn "A lovely place to stay and a fantastic set-up. I can't think of anything you haven't thought of, we really enjoyed our holiday."

July 06 - The Hayloft "We have had a wonderful week staying in the Hayloft. A perfect place to spend a relaxing week. We could not have asked for better accommodation, location or a more friendly welcome."
